Maple tree apartment

But in the middle of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, 2016

Stanovanje z javorjem

Pa vendar sredi Ljubljane, Ljubljana, 2016

The apartment of 72sqm is situated within a first rate apartment block in the heart of Ljubljana. In the centre of apartment we find a small patio which brings light into the living room and bedroom. The first iimpression we get when entering this apartment is that we are in a ground floor atrium-type house. The client, owner of the apartment, is a businessman whose wish is to keep the room as bright as possible and create the feeling of spaciousness.

Furniture intervention has been, therefore, very simple. It is limited to a row of white wardrobes showing visitors from the entryway to the living room. The white wardrobe row provides for any storage or utility needs of the resident, combining entryway cloakroom, clothing wardrobes, study equipped with a library, kitchen and utility. Soft upholstered furniture - the grey woolen sofa as a central element, adds a homey touch to the basic framework. In a similar way a solid oak tree table with bench seats likewise make people around feel comfortable in the place. it is a chic and elegant table design which recalls Japanese-style and aesthetics of Japan where the owner of apartment likes travelling around. Above the table, an original Japanese paper lantern.

Minimal architectural details, concept of pure lines and white colour leave spaces open, airy and peaceful. In the centre of the apartment rises a Japanese maple tree. As its leaves change colour with the seasons, this tree brings the story of the changing season and the far distant places to the apartment. Thus the tree in the patio integrates a piece of nature into this urban apartment (translation by Špela Kutin).

V enotni "programski preprogi", nizu omar, so združeni vhodni predprostor, razkošna garderoba, delovni prostor s knjižnico, kuhinja in utility. Minimalni detajli, izčiščen koncept in bela barva puščajo prostore odprte, zračne ter umirjene.
